Simrad® announces GO5 & GO7 XSE Chartplotter Navigation Displays

Simrad GO Series Expanded Sonar Edition Delivers Built-in TotalScan™, StructureScan® HD, DownScan Imaging™ and ForwardScan™ Sonar in 7-inch and All-New 5-inch Displays

Coming in 2016, the Simrad® GO XSE series delivers powerful, full-featured standalone marine chartplotter/fishfinders packed into compact, easy-to-use 5 or 7-inch displays. Loaded with today’s latest boating technologies, the GO5 and GO7 XSE feature super-bright multi-touch displays, internal 10 Hz GPS receivers, StructureScan® HD and CHIRP sonar, autopilot integration and control, engine data monitoring, full audio entertainment integration with SonicHub®2, integrated wireless connectivity and the powerful new Simrad TripIntel™ trip computer.

GO XSE displays offer intuitive multi-touch controls that smartphone and tablet users will instantly find familiar. Boaters are able to tap the screen to create or select waypoints, pinch-to-zoom, or tap-and-drag to pan smoothly across charts, while simple home screen and menu layouts allow quick access to all functions. Adjustable split-screen views and customisable panel layouts with large, clearly captioned icons that are easy to recognize make the GO XSE series simple-to-use, full-featured chartplotters.

Also unique to the GO XSE series, the Cruise Charting page combines crucial navigation data and charts into one easy to read display, while new TripIntel technology tracks and displays the key information needed to plan a safe and enjoyable day on the water. TripIntel provides fuel range overlaid on charts, current and future tide levels, and a detailed history of previous trips including the route taken and how the boat performed. Simrad GO XSE series displays connect to any NMEA 2000-compatible equipment aboard a vessel including outboard and inboard engines, as well as fuel flow, fluid level, speed, heading, and water temperature sensors and more. For unsurpassed navigation, the chartplotter supports the widest available range of cartography options including C-MAP® MAX-N, Navionics®, Insight®, Insight Genesis® and NV Digital® Charts.

Anglers can take full advantage of the built-in sonar by simply adding a suitable transducer for accurate, real-time depth tracking and fishfinding. A scrollable depth history view lets boaters track back and easily set waypoints for promising anchorages. StructureScan HD Imaging offers a picture-like view of the bottom on each side and beneath the boat with DownScan Imaging™ view, and CHIRP Sonar provides improved target identification at greater depths, a clearer display with less interference and enhanced target separation. ForwardScan™ sonar technology built into the GO XSE series (transducer sold separately) also provides forward-looking, two-dimensional sonar views of the bottom depth ahead of your boat – a powerful defence against running aground, and an invaluable tool for locating secure sites to drop anchor.

The Simrad SonicHub2 marine audio system brings complete control of on-the-water entertainment to GO XSE displays, eliminating the need for a separate stereo head-unit. Stream music from Bluetooth® connected tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices, play MP3 files from a USB flash drive, or listen to the built-in AM/FM radio. For additional flexibility, the GoFree™ Controller App gives boaters the capability to connect the GO XSE to Android and iOS devices, mirroring the display on smartphones and providing full remote control via iPad.

The Simrad GO7 XSE is scheduled for February 2016 availability from authorised distributors, while the all-new GO5 XSE is scheduled for availability the following month.
